Eligiblity to Work in UK

We are required by law to verify the Identity and Eligibility to work in the UK of all jobseekers*

Proof of identity and eligibility to work in the UK must therefore be provided by every Jobseeker wishing to register with us for temporary or permanent work.

Examples of Acceptable documents for proof of ID are:

  • Passport or
  • Full/long form UK Birth Certificate and an official HMRC document bearing your name and National Insurance Number or
  • Photo Driving licence and a recent utility bill both bearing the same address or
  • National Identity card

Examples  of Acceptable documents for proof of Eligibility to work in the UK are:

  • UK Passport
  • A full/long UK Birth Certificate and an official HMRC document bearing your name and National Insurance Number
  • Work Permit
  • EU/EAA National ID card
  • Letter from the Home Office confirming you are allowed to work in the UK

*Eligibility to work - Section 8 of the Asylum & Immigration Act 1996 requires that Bamford Contract Services check that all candidates are eligible to work in the UK.

* Regulation 19 of the The Conduct of Employment Agencies and Employment Businesses Regulations 2003, requires that Bamford Contract Services confirms the identity of all work-seekers before introducing or supplying them to clients
